No single investment house can have a monopoly over investment talent and even the best fund managers have investment styles that may not be suited to every phase of the investment cycle. It makes sense, therefore, to adopt an “open architecture” approach to private client fund management and an active approach to fund selection. We believe this focus on best-of-breed fund managers operating in diverse asset classes should produce returns that are lower risk than and less correlated to volatile equity markets. They should, therefore, be better designed to achieve “absolute return” investment objectives.
