Brompton Asset Management principally invests on behalf of professional and private clients in collective investment funds. For one client, however, and on occasion for other clients, Brompton invests in listed equities.
Brompton’s main objective in its corporate governance arrangements is to protect shareholder value and enhance clients’ return. Brompton acknowledges that given the firm’s size and the value of assets invested in direct equities, it is unlikely to be in a position to influence the management teams of quoted companies. If an occasion arose in which we disagreed with the actions of management, we might vote against the relevant resolution and/or sell the holding.
Brompton is currently developing its processes with the intention of fully implementing the principles of the UK Stewardship Code.
